I have been living in Japan for almost 15 years and have previously lived in different cities in the UK, London, Manchester, Cardiff and Swansea, and I also lived in Perth, West Australia for a short time. I used to teach English and judo at high schools in Gifu prefecture but have been working at universities in Nagoya for almost ten years now and have been at Sugiyama Jogakuen University since 2019. I love playing music, particularly the bass guitar and play in a band with other university teachers from Nagoya. I have always played various sports, but my favourites are rugby and football (soccer) and have played both in Nagoya for a few different teams. I also love martial arts and have black belts in jiu-jitsu, judo and aikido. There are many similarities between sports, music and learning languages.
