Participants will be able to experience the wide range of fields and highly specialized courses Tohoku University offers through taking General Education and specialized subjects. Curriculum Students join the regular courses offered in each department, where the lectures are mostly given in Japanese. Requirement for Completion 13 credits or more for one semester / 26 credits or more for one year Two Tohoku University credits (TU credits) are to be given per course (90min.) in general. Academic Calendar Eligibility Undergraduate students enrolled at institutions having a formal student exchange agreement with Tohoku University. They are required to provide evidence of proficiency in Japanese, such as the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N1 or equivalent certification issued by the student's home university. The relevant certificate(s) should be submitted at the time of application. How to Apply Students studying at Tohoku University's partner universities can contact their exchange program coordinator about an application and selection process of DEEP.  Application materials must be submitted only through the coordinator at the student's home institution.   Students will be formally registered in the following Schools/Faculties. The applicant must specify their choice of School/Faculty with reading carefully our respective website for study field.
